You have files waiting to be written to the CD..

Ever get the "You have files waiting to be written to the CD" popup window under Windows XP? It can be very annoying, especially if you don't even remember (accidentally) dragging files to the drive and it shits me to tears every time it happens.

How to get rid of this repugnant intrusion into your computing life:

• Open My Computer
• Right-click on the CD-ROM (or DVD-ROM) drive and click properties
• Click the "Recording" tab
• Uncheck the "Enable CD Recording on this drive" and close all of the windows

 

And that's it. Done. Nothing like a quickie..
